When you see multiple properties on a website, it was made possible through Internet Data Exchange feed. The IDX (Internet Data Exchange, a paid service) provided by the regional MLS (Multiple Listing Service). This is how property listings feed to, or appear on websites.
A home buyer may find a property online through any website. You may notice listing information is very similar regardless of what website is used. IDX standards are set by the National Association of Realtors. This protects the accuracy of the MLS information and uniformity of updates and display. Real estate firms offer different services for listing a home, such as professional photography, drone videos, brochures, etc. But when it comes to listing a home online, it is essentially the same process, company to company. Agents and assistants have access to the MLS (multiple listing service) database for your region. Agents can provide information to clients that is not provided through other websites or the IDX feed, so having a buyer's agent is essential to the home buying process.
